Our Mission

The mission of the Guardians of the Children (GOC) is to recognize and react to child abuse and educate the public to do the same; to service as advocates to provide strength and stability to families in crises; and be an answer to the prayer of an abused child or teen for courage, support and protection.

What To Do

What to do if a child discloses sexual abuse

Believe Them

Your job is to believe what the child is telling you.

Remind Them

Remind the child that what happened is not their fault.

Listen Carefully

You need to listen carefully to the details the child is telling you.

Reassure Them

Reassure the child that they did the right thing telling you.

Stay Composed

Do not get angry or overly upset. You are there to support the child.

Report It

Above all else, report the incident to the authorities.
